"A taste of Norway". Inspired by the Hanseatic houses on the Bryggen Wharf in Bergen. So feminine and simple - just a little pattern with beautiful pewter buttons - but so elegant and timeless. The structure of the knit makes the jacket beautiful, contemporary and it feels unbelievably comfortable to wear. Knitted in 100% wool - it breathes unlike synthetic fibres. Made in Norway to be worn by gorgeous ladies.

Love your garment
All Susan Fosse garments can be either hand washed or washed in the washing machine using a hand wash wool cycle. To wash by hand use a detergent with a neutral pH and wash in lukewarm water, 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Rinse well. Roll the garment in a towel to remove as much of the water as possible and then dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting. To wash by machine use a detergent with a neutral pH. Wash garment on its own, on a wool cycle at 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting.
How to measure:
- A - Chest: underarm to underarm
- B - Back: base of collar to base of sweater
- C - Sleeve: centre neck to cuff
All our products are individually made so there can be a slight variation of up to 3 cm in each product.
Wool however is very stretchy!

Sandviken has been part of the collection since 1992 with only small improvements made over the years. The design is inspired by Mount Sandviken, one of the seven mountains that surround the beautiful city of Bergen and knitted in 100% wool which you can wash in the washing machine on a wool programme. You will be hard pressed to find a more traditional Norwegian cardigan.

Love your garment
All Susan Fosse garments can be either hand washed or washed in the washing machine using a hand wash wool cycle. To wash by hand use a detergent with a neutral pH and wash in lukewarm water, 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Rinse well. Roll the garment in a towel to remove as much of the water as possible and then dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting. To wash by machine use a detergent with a neutral pH. Wash garment on its own, on a wool cycle at 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting.
How to measure:
- A - Chest: underarm to underarm
- B - Back: base of collar to base of sweater
- C - Sleeve: centre neck to cuff

The Sandviken hat is inspired by Mount Sandviken, one of the seven mountains which surround the City of Bergen on the West Coast of Norway. Here you can climb up the steep path of Stoltzekleiven, ca. 800 steps, to the top of Mount Sandviken. It´s hard, but the view from the top is stunning! The Sandviken hat is comfortable and easy to wear, knitted in 100% wool with a narrow cotton brim.

Stryn-Pulley - The only means to haul supplies up to the farm at Segestad, Stryn was to use this Pulley. Hard work, but what a view!
Stryn-Trees - One of my favourite places. No road, no people just a stunning view on a summer afternoon at Segestad in Stryn.
Boathouses - Winter isn´t over, but spring sunshine starts to warm the sandy beach at Grotle in Bremanger.
Bryggen -The vibrant colours of the beautiful wooden facade at Bryggen, hide the treasures to be discovered behind. Our delightful shop can be found here along with other artists and designers shops and studios.
Reflection - Captured on a sunny winters day at Kjøsnesfjorden in Jølster. This view is never the same from one day to the next. You can just see some of Grova Glacier in the top right of the photo.
Glacier - This photograph was taken at Nigardsbreen in Luster.The beautiful aqua lake formed by the water running down from the glacier reflected the stunning patterns in the rock. The icy water so enticing, you could almost just dive in.
Skansen - Instead of taking the funicular up Mount Fløien, make your own route through the narrow streets and alleyways between these colourful houses which cling to the mountainside. It’s worth getting lost here!
Barn - Discovering isolated valleys in Norway can become addictive. Veitastrond is Susan's favourite at any time of the year, but especially when summer meadow flowers are surrounded by the majestic Jostedalsbreen National Park.
Hardanger - Everyday isn't filled with glorious sunshine in Norway. However there is beauty in a grey cloudy day too. Discover the rich textures of weathered wood and stone.
Beach - Crystal clear waters and a white sandy beach, where better to spend an afternoon. The Norwegian coastline is full of beautiful, undiscovered coves and beaches like this one at Grotle in Bremanger.

Roll the garment in a towel to remove as much of the water as possible and then dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting. To wash by machine use a detergent with a neutral pH. Wash garment on its own, on a wool cycle at 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting.

- B - Back: base of collar to base of sweater
- C - Sleeve: centre neck to cuff

The Kvam design is inspired by the dramatic landscape of Hardanger - known for its beautiful deep fjords, steep snow covered mountains and lush orchards. It is a comfortable jacket - easy to throw on, practical while being warm and cosy.The colours are close in tone to give the traditional pattern a contemporary feel.
We have recently improved the Kvam design, and it is now a little longer in the body and includes an elastic at the bottom of the cardigan for a better fit around the hip.

The design combines a bluebell pattern taken from a watercolor painting Susan painted at the summer house when she was 16 with some traditional geometric patterns. A light structural pattern inspired by the traditional fisherman's sweater, covers the body of the jacket in the main colour. There is an elegant pattern with the contrast colour across the chest. Down each side of the body there is a rib to give a better fit and excellent mobility. The cardigan has a full zip, fleece lined collar and a practical elastic drawstring at the base of the sweater, for a perfect fit. Knitted in 100% wool.
The design takes its name after an old farmstead in Bergen. Alvøen is one of the oldest and best kept industrial sites in Norway where the mill, as well as the old farmsteads, have been turned into a museum. Well worth a visit! The lovely whitewashed workers houses situated by the sea, have all been renovated and are so pretty.

Love your garment
All Susan Fosse garments can be either hand washed or washed in the washing machine using a hand wash wool cycle. To wash by hand use a detergent with a neutral pH and wash in lukewarm water, 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Rinse well. Roll the garment in a towel to remove as much of the water as possible and then dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting. To wash by machine use a detergent with a neutral pH. Wash garment on its own, on a wool cycle at 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting.
How to measure:
- A - Chest: underarm to underarm
- B - Back: base of collar to base of sweater
- C - Sleeve: centre neck to cuff

The Nordnes cardigan has the same intricate pattern as the Rundemann design, but with a full zip instead of hooks. The classic and comfortable traditional Norwegian cardigan is knitted in 100% wool.
