A light structural pattern inspired by the traditional fisherman's sweater, covers the body of the jacket in the main colour. There is an elegant pattern with the contrast colour across the chest. Down each side of the body there is a rib to give a better fit and excellent mobility. The cardigan has a full zip, fleece lined collar and a practical elastic drawstring at the base of the sweater, for a perfect fit. Knitted in 100% wool.
The design takes its name after an old farmstead in Bergen. Alvøen is one of the oldest and best kept industrial sites in Norway where the mill, as well as the old farmsteads, have been turned into a museum. Well worth a visit! The lovely whitewashed workers houses situated by the sea, have all been renovated and are so pretty.

Stryn-Pulley - The only means to haul supplies up to the farm at Segestad, Stryn was to use this Pulley. Hard work, but what a view!
Stryn-Trees - One of my favourite places. No road, no people, just a stunning view on a summer afternoon at Segestad in Stryn.
Boathouses - Winter isn´t over, but spring sunshine starts to warm the sandy beach at Grotle in Bremanger.
Bryggen -The vibrant colours of the beautiful wooden facade at Bryggen, hide the treasures to be discovered behind. Our delightful shop can be found here along with other artists and designers shops and studios.
Reflection - Captured on a sunny winters day at Kjøsnesfjorden in Jølster. This view is never the same from one day to the next. You can just see some of Grova Glacier in the top right of the photo.
Glacier - This photograph was taken at Nigardsbreen in Luster. The beautiful aqua lake formed by the water running down from the glacier reflected the stunning patterns in the rock. The icy water so enticing, you could almost just dive in.
Skansen - Instead of taking the funicular up Mount Fløien, make your own route through the narrow streets and alleyways between these colourful houses which cling to the mountainside. It’s worth getting lost here!
Barn - Discovering isolated valleys in Norway can become addictive. Veitastrond is Susan's favourite at any time of the year, but especially when summer meadow flowers are surrounded by the majestic Jostedalsbreen National Park.
Hardanger - Everyday isn't filled with glorious sunshine in Norway. However there is beauty in a grey cloudy day too. Discover the rich textures of weathered wood and stone.
Beach - Crystal clear waters and a white sandy beach, where better to spend an afternoon. The Norwegian coastline is full of beautiful, undiscovered coves and beaches like this one at Grotle in Bremanger.

Classic and comfortable traditional Norwegian cardigan. Gorgeous pewter buttons with a Viking ship motif and 100% wool braiding enhance the rich design. Sandviken has been part of the collection since 1992 with only small improvements made over the years. The design is inspired by Mount Sandviken, one of the seven mountains that surround the beautiful city of Bergen and knitted in 100% wool which you can wash in the washing machine on a wool programme. You will be hard pressed to find a more traditional Norwegian cardigan.

Stryn-Pulley - The only means to haul supplies up to the farm at Segestad, Stryn was to use this Pulley. Hard work, but what a view!
Stryn-Trees - One of my favourite places. No road, no people just a stunning view on a summer afternoon at Segestad in Stryn.
Boathouses - Winter isn´t over, but spring sunshine starts to warm the sandy beach at Grotle in Bremanger.

Reflection - Captured on a sunny winters day at Kjøsnesfjorden in Jølster. This view is never the same from one day to the next. You can just see some of Grova Glacier in the top right of the photo.
Glacier - This photograph was taken at Nigardsbreen in Luster.The beautiful aqua lake formed by the water running down from the glacier reflected the stunning patterns in the rock. The icy water so enticing, you could almost just dive in.
Barn - Discovering isolated valleys in Norway can become addictive. Veitastrond is Susan's favourite at any time of the year, but especially when summer meadow flowers are surrounded by the majestic Jostedalsbreen National Park.
Hardanger - Everyday isn't filled with glorious sunshine in Norway. However there is beauty in a grey cloudy day too. Discover the rich textures of weathered wood and stone.
Beach - Crystal clear waters and a white sandy beach, where better to spend an afternoon. The Norwegian coastline is full of beautiful, undiscovered coves and beaches like this one at Grotle in Bremanger.

A gorgeous classic Norwegian Sweater knitted in 100% wool. The Setesdal rose is the inspiration for the band across the chest - a very traditional pattern in Norway. The name "Nøstet" is from a part of Bergen Centre - where you can still find some of the small older whitewashed wooden houses. The area has become very popular recently with lots of families moving in, renovating the old houses and once again making this part of the city centre a very welcoming place to live. The sweater can be machine washed - and is both highly comfortable and durable - perfect for active children outdoors or for keeping cosy indoors. A handmade pewter button keeps the lining around the neck snug and close. Made in Norway.

Mount Ulriken is Bergen´s highest mountain at 643 metres above sea level. There is a cable car you can take up, or if you and the kids are feeling fit, you can climb the long steps to the top.
Our Ulriken design was one of Susan´s first designs she made in 1992 and is still a firm favourite. Inspired by many a long hike to the summit of Mount Ulriken.

The Nordnes cardigan has the same intricate pattern as the Rundemann design, but with a full zip instead of hooks. The classic and comfortable traditional Norwegian cardigan is knitted in 100% wool. Nordnes is also available as a Vest.
Nordnes is a beautiful part of Bergen, a peninsula on the west side of the original old harbour of Bergen - Vågen. Nordnes is filled with the painted wooden houses which Bergen is famous for dating back hundreds of years. You will be hard pressed to find a more traditional Norwegian design.

Glacier - This photograph was taken at Nigardsbreen in Luster. The beautiful aqua lake formed by the water running down from the glacier reflected the stunning patterns in the rock. The icy water so enticing, you could almost just dive in.

Voss is a sporty design which is comfortable to wear when you are active. Inspired by wonderful days skiing under blue skies at Voss ski resort in the West of Norway. Classic and comfortable traditional Norwegian cardigan. Gorgeous pewter buttons with a Viking ship motif and 100% wool braiding enhance the rich design. Sandviken has been part of the collection since 1992 with only small improvements made over the years. The design is inspired by Mount Sandviken, one of the seven mountains that surround the beautiful city of Bergen and knitted in 100% wool which you can wash in the washing machine on a wool programme.
