The Kvam design is inspired by the dramatic landscape of Hardanger - known for its beautiful deep fjords, steep snow covered mountains and lush orchards. It is a comfortable jacket - easy to throw on, practical while being warm and cosy.The colours are close in tone to give the traditional pattern a contemporary feel.
We have recently improved the Kvam design, and it is now a little longer in the body and includes an elastic at the bottom of the cardigan for a better fit around the hip.

All Susan Fosse garments can be either hand washed or washed in the washing machine using a hand wash wool cycle. To wash by hand use a detergent with a neutral pH and wash in lukewarm water, 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Rinse well. Roll the garment in a towel to remove as much of the water as possible and then dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting. To wash by machine use a detergent with a neutral pH. Wash garment on its own, on a wool cycle at 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting.

- A - Chest: underarm to underarm
- B - Back: base of collar to base of sweater
- C - Sleeve: centre neck to cuff

The pattern og the Stølen cardigan is based on the pattern used in Kvam, but instead of contrasting colours Susan has used two different stitches to create a wonderful texture. Stølen is unbelievably comfortable with a full zipper, fleece on the inside of the collar and an elastic drawstring at the base to give it a perfect fit on the hip. Stølen is knitted in 100% wool. Desined and produced in Norway.

Love your garment
All Susan Fosse garments can be either hand washed or washed in the washing machine using a hand wash wool cycle. A light structural pattern inspired by the traditional fisherman's sweater, covers the body of the jacket in the main colour. There is an elegant pattern with the contrast colour across the chest. Down each side of the body there is a rib to give a better fit and excellent mobility. The cardigan has a full zip, fleece lined collar and a practical elastic drawstring at the base of the sweater, for a perfect fit. Knitted in 100% wool.
The design takes its name after an old farmstead in Bergen. Alvøen is one of the oldest and best kept industrial sites in Norway where the mill, as well as the old farmsteads, have been turned into a museum. Well worth a visit! The lovely whitewashed workers houses situated by the sea, have all been renovated and are so pretty.

The total cost of your order will include a delivery charge. Delivery times will vary according to how quickly the mail service can deliver. We recommend placing your orders early at particularly busy times of year (such as Christmas) to make allowance for delivery delays. We reserve the right to decline to fulfill orders for any reason, including a Susan Fosse product which has been mis-published, such as its price or specification. Orders are treated as offers which we are entitled to accept or decline. If there are any problems with your order, we will contact you. There is only one delivery charge per order. Note that we cannot be responsible for orders which go missing after delivery. Extra shipping charges will be incurred for shipping of exchanged goods.
If products are to be shipped within Scandinavia, Norwegian VAT is charged at the current rate. Import Tax and/or value added tax may be charged by the country the product is shipped to. Import and Tax costs vary from country to country and are payable and the responsibility of the customer.
Returns policy
If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return it back for a full refund (less any shipping charges) within 14 days. To wash by hand use a detergent with a neutral pH and wash in lukewarm water, 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Rinse well. Roll the garment in a towel to remove as much of the water as possible and then dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting. To wash by machine use a detergent with a neutral pH. Wash garment on its own, on a wool cycle at 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting.
How to measure:
- A - Chest: underarm to underarm
- B - Back: base of collar to base of sweater
- C - Sleeve: centre neck to cuff
All our products are individually made so there can be a slight variation of up to 3 cm in each product.

A collection of six personal images taken by Susan along the West coast of Norway printed onto a polyester buff. When you first get used to using your buff, you won´t want to leave the house without it. So practical and handy to use, comfortable to wear and striking to look at.
Glacier - This photograph was taken at Nigardsbreen in Luster. The beautiful aqua lake formed by the water running down from the glacier reflected the stunning patterns in the rock. The icy water so enticing, you could almost just dive in.
Bryggen - The vibrant colours of the beautiful wooden facade at Bryggen, hide the treasures to be discovered behind. Our delightful shop can be found here along with other artists and designers shops and studios.
Reflection - Captured on a sunny winters day at Kjøsnesfjorden in Jølster. This view is never the same from one day to the next. You can just see some of Grova Glacier in the top right of the photo.
Stryn-Pulley - The only means to haul supplies up to the farm at Segestad, Stryn was to use this Pulley. Hard work, but what a view!
