A light structural pattern inspired by the traditional fisherman's sweater, covers the body of the jacket in the main colour. There is an elegant pattern with the contrast colour across the chest. Down each side of the body there is a rib to give a better fit and excellent mobility. The cardigan has a full zip, fleece lined collar and a practical elastic drawstring at the base of the sweater, for a perfect fit. Knitted in 100% wool.
The design takes its name after an old farmstead in Bergen. Alvøen is one of the oldest and best kept industrial sites in Norway where the mill, as well as the old farmsteads, have been turned into a museum. Well worth a visit! The lovely whitewashed workers houses situated by the sea, have all been renovated and are so pretty.

Love your garment
All Susan Fosse garments can be either hand washed or washed in the washing machine using a hand wash wool cycle. To wash by hand use a detergent with a neutral pH and wash in lukewarm water, 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Rinse well. Roll the garment in a towel to remove as much of the water as possible and then dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting. To wash by machine use a detergent with a neutral pH. Wash garment on its own, on a wool cycle at 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting.
How to measure:
- A - Chest: underarm to underarm
- B - Back: base of collar to base of sweater
- C - Sleeve: centre neck to cuff

Love your garment
All Susan Fosse garments can be either hand washed or washed in the washing machine using a hand wash wool cycle. Classic and comfortable traditional Norwegian cardigan. Gorgeous pewter buttons with a Viking ship motif and 100% wool braiding enhance the rich design. Sandviken has been part of the collection since 1992 with only small improvements made over the years. The design is inspired by Mount Sandviken, one of the seven mountains that surround the beautiful city of Bergen and knitted in 100% wool which you can wash in the washing machine on a wool programme. You will be hard pressed to find a more traditional Norwegian cardigan.

Classic and comfortable traditional Norwegian cardigan. Gorgeous pewter buttons with a Viking ship motif and 100% wool braiding enhance the rich design. Sandviken has been part of the collection since 1992 with only small improvements made over the years. The design is inspired by Mount Sandviken, one of the seven mountains that surround the beautiful city of Bergen and knitted in 100% wool which you can wash in the washing machine on a wool programme. You will be hard pressed to find a more traditional Norwegian cardigan.

Love your garment
All Susan Fosse garments can be either hand washed or washed in the washing machine using a hand wash wool cycle. To wash by hand use a detergent with a neutral pH and wash in lukewarm water, 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Rinse well. Roll the garment in a towel to remove as much of the water as possible and then dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting. To wash by machine use a detergent with a neutral pH. Wash garment on its own, on a wool cycle at 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting.
How to measure:
- A - Chest: underarm to underarm
- B - Back: base of collar to base of sweater
- C - Sleeve: centre neck to cuff

The design combines a bluebell pattern taken from a watercolor painting Susan painted at the summer house when she was 16 with some traditional geometric patterns. All Susan Fosse garments can be either hand washed or washed in the washing machine using a hand wash wool cycle. To wash by hand use a detergent with a neutral pH and wash in lukewarm water, 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Rinse well. Roll the garment in a towel to remove as much of the water as possible and then dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting. To wash by machine use a detergent with a neutral pH. Wash garment on its own, on a wool cycle at 30 degrees centigrade / 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not tumble dry. Dry flat (do not hang to dry). The garment can then be gently steamed with an iron on a low setting.
How to measure:
- A - Chest: underarm to underarm
- B - Back: base of collar to base of sweater
- C - Sleeve: centre neck to cuff
All our products are individually made so there can be a slight variation of up to 3 cm in each product.
Wool however is very stretchy!

We will contact you if there is an excessive delay with the dispatch of your Susan Fosse products. We aim to send out orders on the working day after we receive them. The total cost of your order will include a delivery charge, which is shown at checkout.
Delivery times vary depending on your destination and local postal services. We recommend placing your orders early at busy times of year (such as Christmas) to allow for delivery delays.
We reserve the right to decline to fulfil orders for any reason, including an item which has been published in error (for example, an incorrect price or description). Orders are treated as offers which we are entitled to accept or decline. If there are any problems with your order, we will contact you.
Please note that we cannot be responsible for orders which go missing after delivery has been confirmed. Extra shipping charges may apply for shipping of exchanged goods.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return it for a full refund (less any shipping charges) within 14 days of receipt.
If you wish to exchange your product for a different size, colour, or variation, simply send it back to us and we will promptly ship the new product (subject to availability and additional shipping charges).
Returns must be 100% complete, in original and resalable condition, with all original packaging and tags. Only unwashed, unworn, or defective merchandise may be returned. Items returned in unsellable condition will be shipped back to you at your expense, and no refund will be issued.
